June 28: Departure Day

This program has two options for escorted group flights, with one departing from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, TX, and the other departing from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), in Newark, NJ. Parents should choose the group flight that best fits their student’s travel plans and hometown location. June 28–30: Playa Hermosa

Spend the first few days of the program getting to know one another, reviewing the rules and safety precautions, and learning about our new surroundings while enjoying the beautiful Playa Hermosa beach. We will go over an outline of what to expect in the three weeks to come.

July 1–July 7: Group A in Playa Hermosa/Group B in Silencio

Group A remains at Villa Huetares in Playa Hermosa. Group B travels to Silencio, our community service village located in the mountains near Tilaran. Students will be assigned to Group A or B upon arrival in Costa Rica.

July 8 & July 9: La Fortuna de San Carlos

The entire group reunites during our excursion to Arenal Volcano. We stay at the sustainable eco-lodge, Rancho Margot. While at Rancho Margot, explore the area on horseback, in kayaks, and on foot during the day, and soak in the hot springs at night.

July 10–July 15: Group B in Playa Hermosa/Group A in Silencio

Group B will return to Villa Huetares in Playa Hermosa.  Group A will travel to Silencio, our community service village.

July 15–18: Playa Hermosa

Reunite with the entire group for the final days of the program. Reflect on the experience, relax, and say goodbye.

July 19: Return Day
